ord ord ord

Ord means words in Swedish.

Today is 232 of consecutive days learning Swedish.

What initially started to help facilitate easy conversations on a trip to Finland, Vaasa and Helsinki specifically, became a fun project in challenging my linguistic side.

Learning how words in another language come together in different ways, how the way we construct our sentences in English varies when looking for a literal translation in other spaces.

I have really loved learning a new language and am looking forward to actually using some Swedish whenever I make it to Finland or back to Sweden or anywhere where the words and phrases I have learned find me.

And I added more words to my library with a special visit to All She Wrote, an intersectional feminist and queer-centered bookstore.

Because of the pandemic, you need to specially arrange for book browsing time.

So, I was hanging out in a new, chill space full of words…BY MYSELF.

Wasn’t this a dream I had as a kid?
