Through A Lens

I am exploring with picture taking and filters.
One of the best classes I ever talk was photography but I’ve never really gotten good at pictures on my phone.

When I started writing, I had the idea of comparing photography lenses to the lenses we use to look at the world, but I don’t see myself doing that anymore.

Instead, I am playing with filters and using this picture of Boston from the Cambridge side (one of my favorite views of the city) to think about same thing can be many different things all at once.

  • I have always been intrigued by filters and lenses. I really feel that it resonates with the notion of perspectives, and of how different lenses shape our understanding and viewpoints. Gorgeous photos!

  • I love that view, too! Such a neat metaphor – how vastly looking at things through different filters changes the appearance.
